The Team provides a social and friendly approach to circuit racing, where we focus on support and advice to all our competitors, ensuring a safe and cost effective route to racing.

The CRT aims to promote race fitness and inter-service competition and is currently competing as a team in the Armed Forces Race Challenge (AFRC).

Our goals are to grow novice and seasoned drivers to enable us to challenge for both the Team Championship in the AFRC and also the Inter-Services Championship, held each year at the 6hr Birkett Relay.

A bit delayed, however our Gaz Shocks 116 Trophy car broke cover at Snetterton last weekend for the final round of the Armed Forces Race Challenge (AFRC). This was primarily a shake down race prior to subjecting it to a big test in the 12hr RaceofRemembrance at Anglesey Circuit 9-10 Nov.

The car has been built to allow grass roots participation by our team’s novice drivers in the AFRC, but also to allow the team to expand into endurance racing against the RAF Motorsports Car Racing Team in the 116 Trophy.

We’d like to thank all those involved in bringing this project to life, not just the car itself, but also with the support, transport and data analytics solutions that we have been able to include in the complete package. Hopefully it’ll bring us some very close and enjoyable racing, whilst also providing a new crop of racers from within the Royal Navy and Royal Marines their first taste of competitive circuit racing.

Looks fantastic, have fun racing her 👍

Great looking car guys well done

Looks great Keith Attwood. Now ready for a race set up and action in Anglesey.

Well done to Lt Cdr Keith Attwood who finished in 1st place in Class C in the Armed Forces Race Challenge last weekend at Snetterton.

A great drive in challenging conditions which saw him move up the final Inter Service Championship rankings to seal 3rd place overall for the 2019 season.

Lt Cdr Rich Beaumont also drove well to take 3rd place in the 2019 Novice Trophy.

A good weekend for the team with a lot of the reliability issues that had plagued our drivers sorted out. Also great to get new driver Mne Ed Raymont out for his first ever race in the Team's Peugeot 206.

Whilst the 2019 season in the AFRC has finished we'll be out racing 26 Oct at Silverstone in the Inter Services Team Championship in the 6hr 750MC - Birkett Relay.

Thanks as always to our families, supporters and team sponsors/partners who make it possible for us to compete.

Congratulations on both this round and the season. You are definitely top sailor fella.

Really well deserved mate, fantastic driving with some great battles. I can’t think of a more deserving driver to hand on ‘my’ No3 to 👍👏👏

Fantastic result Keith Attwood

Well done Keith Attwood. Another strong season.

Fantastic support from Jonathan Knighton providing coverage for BFBS TV and Forces News of the Armed Forces Race Challenge final round at Snetterton circuit last weekend, 12 Oct.

Our BMW Gaz Shocks 116 Trophy car broke cover for this round, having a shakedown outing prior to the 750MC - Birkett Relay and RaceofRemembrance to round off this year of racing.

More news on how the RNRM team faired and news for the remaining races later tonight.

Qualifying done a little earlier today. Quite a wet but evolving track, rain has now stopped so the hard decision for wet or dry tyres will need to be made shortly.

Great qualification by Keith Attwood, who will start in 4th and congratulations to our new driver Ed Raymont who got through his first qualification without issue.

Rich scott is also out in the teams new 116 Trophy car giving it a full shakedown prior to the Race of Remembrance in November.

First race is due to start at 1230 with live timings available here.
