The Royal Navy Royal Marines Karting Team competes in the Armed Forces Karting Championship against over 50 other karts from the Army and the RAF, as well as several civilian associate teams. The Championship is held over six races from spring to autumn at some of the best kart tracks in the country. The Team are always competitive and our top kart won two of the six rounds of the 2019 season, finishing 6th in the championship.

Each round is a three hour endurance race with each kart shared by two to four drivers. Three pit stops are mandatory and a fuel stop at the halfway stage is essential to ensure each kart can make it to the end; this means team drivers and mechanics have to work together to ensure each stop does not cause the team to lose time or track position whilst pitting.

The Team also has a great social side with BBQs and time to relax in the evenings between race days, as well as an end of year dinner with the entire motorsports Association.

Karting is the grassroots of motorsport and provides an excellent stepping stone for those interested in the other disciplines within the RNRMMSA.
